 Writing Task - Fan Fiction Writing

Today we will be having a go at 

Fan Fiction Writing.

What is Fan-fiction writing, I hear you ask?!

 Fan Fiction is a style of story-telling where we take characters and settings from our favourite movies or books, and use them to create our own original stories!

On Monday we explored comic books, so you could choose a comic book character, but it could be any book or movie character that you liked!

Before you start writing tell me…

Who are your characters?	Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn
When and where does your story take place?	4 Pm  Road Trip To A Family Meet  and She is in the city.
What challenge will they take on?	Defeating Harley Quinn and getting to the Family Meet on time.

Oh! I nearly forgot. You will need to include these 3 things into your story!

Begin your writing here: On a nice Warm day Wonder Woman was on a Road Trip to go to her grandma's funeral. While she was driving She saw lots of amazing things like flowers and butterflies. She was so excited to go and see her family, she was getting hungry so she decided to stop at a gas station and eat her cupcake. After that she realized that she was almost out of gas so she got out of her car and went to go pay for her gas. When she was waiting in line to go pay for her gas she saw something move behind her car but she ignored it because she was next in line. Little did wonder woman no but Harley quinn saw her and she un screwed the nails for her tires. Wonder Woman Walked back to her car with full gas and she was ready to go back to road she was driving and then she has to drive in the city then suddenly her car stop and the tires pop out and roll everywhere wonder woman doesnt know what to do so she sits in her car then a man walks up to her car and a man asks what's wrong and she says her tires popped out and rolled everywhere the man says it’s okay because he knows how to put them back on. Wonder Woman thanks him and after about 30 mins her tire is fixed and she rushes back on to the road and while she is driving she sees harly Quinn and sees that she was the one who did that to her tire because she has the tool that can take out a tire. Wonder Woman changes into her clothes quickly and runs to Harley Quinn. They have a fight and wonder woman hits her with her lasso and she puts her in cuffs and the police takes her away.  After the fight Wonder Woman changes back into her clothes and drives to her family's house. She makes it in time and everybody is saying hi to her. Wonder woman also decided to play some Piano for everybody and enjoy her music. THE END

 Writing Task - Five Senses!

Today you have a different kind of writing challenge. Today you will not be writing AS MUCH as you can. Yesterday you were limited by the amount of words you can use in your story.

Here is what you must do.

• Choose one of the photo prompts as the subject for your writing

• Write a short descriptive piece of writing as though YOU were in the scene.

• Use your 5 senses to describe what it is like to be there, and what it must feel like. (Sight, touch, taste, sound, smell).

• You don’t have to use all 5 senses, but try to!

Five Senses
Sight	What are the interesting visual parts of the scene?	“Tree tops bend and sway as the wind sweeps through the forest”
Touch	What sensations do your hands, feet, and skin feel in the scene?	“The ground shook beneath my feet, and the cold wind felt like I had swallowed an ice cube”
Taste	What is the taste in my mouth? How does it feel?	“I winced as I swallowed the bitter medicine. YUCK!”
Sound	What are the interesting noises in my scene?	“As the sun rose we were greeted by the songs of birds, and the gentle rush of wind through the trees”
Smell	What are the things in my scene that give off a smell? What kind of things am I smelling?	“As I finished the last side of the house the smell of freshly cut grass filled my nostrils”

You can use one of these photos for inspiration, or you can be creative and come up with one all on your own!

Begin your writing here:  I woke up from a nap one day and then I found myself in the land of the dead. I saw lots of people but they were skeletons, they were walking around like normal people and did not mind other skeletons.  I felt something on my foot so I looked to see what it was. I looked at the floor to see what it was and I could see flowers yellow and orange all around the floor and lots of buildings.  It was like I was still at home. But I wasn't. I started to look around and try to go back home. While walking around I could see the skeleton people talking to each other. I was really confused on how they were talking.  While I was walking around I could feel the flowers on the floor and the concrete. It felt really weird. I could taste the air. It tasted like normal air. It had no flavour even though I could taste the air and I could smell food like chicken and bread. It smelled so delicious.  I was getting kind of tired so I fell asleep on a bench. When I woke up I was at home and people were normal and were not skeletons. I was really confused but happy I was back home.

Creating a Comic Book

Comic Books have provided us with some of the best (and worst) movies in recent memory. Some of you may have not even known that your favourite characters, like Iron Man or Wonder Woman were originally comic book characters.

Comics are amazing because they cross over between reading (written language) and movies (visual language), because with each scene that is happening we get words, and pictures to help us understand what is going on!

Your task today is to write a short NARRATIVE based on the cover of a famous comic book. 

That means a story!

Look at the images below very carefully. Pay attention to the characters, the setting, and look for small details that can help you plan what you are going to write.

Who are the characters on the cover?	Harley Quinn and Batman
Describe what the main characters look like.  If there are more than two, choose the ones you like most.	Harley Quinn is tall and has  blonde, blue and red hair that she wears in two pony tails. She loves to wear lots of makeup and bright red lipstick. Her weapon is a baseball bat which she carries with her everywhere.
Where are they?	They are fighting on a rooftop.
Explain what you think  is happening on the cover.	Harley Quinn robbed a bank and Batman is coming after her to take her to the police.
What do you think happens next?	Harley Quinn managed to escape and thought she was meeting with her friend on the rooftop so they could fly away in the helicopter. When she got to the roof, the helicopter landed and Batman got out.

Begin your writing here:  It was 6 pm on a Friday night just before closing New York city Bank. Harley Quinn was pretending to be a worker and was getting ready to close the bank of New York city she was so excited to be getting lots  of money and gold bars. Everyone had left and she was about to pretend she was closing the shop but instead she locked the door so no cops could get in and stop her. She got ready and went to the secret room which was on the 2nd floor that had all of the bank's money and some gold bars. She had 3 big bags which were about to be filled with money and gold.  Harley Quinn broke the safe with her baseball bat that was so powerful it could break metal, and  took lots of money , she also made it to the room with gold bars. She stuffed her bag and was so happy because she was about to be rich and she could get whatever she wanted. She was leaving happily and was waiting for her friend to come, in the distance  she saw a helicopter coming she thought that it was her friend but then suddenly Batman jumped out. They both had a fight and Harley Quinn hits Batman with her hard baseball bat that can break metal she was about to get away from him but Batman gets up and takes her down and she tries to escape but she can because Batman is really powerful. The police get here and harly Quinn is arrested and is taken away to Prison and all the money goes back to the bank. THE END !

  

Writing Samosa

 How to make samosas

Today  you are going to share instructions on how to create samosas. Watch the video on how to make samosas . You will need to use the video to help you know all of the ingredients and equipment needed to make samosas. You will also need to use the video to help you know the step by step instructions to make samosas. Make sure that your instructions are in the right order and provide enough detail for someone else to follow and create their own samosas. 

Equipment:  Mixing bowl, Deep fryer or a pot, measuring spoons.

Ingredients: Flour, Ghee, Water, Potatoes, Cumin seeds, Garam Masala, salt, Turmeric, Ginger paste, peas, crushed garlic, cashew, coriander.

Instructions: First put 2 cups of flour into a mixing bowl, Then  put ½ a teaspoon of salt into the bowl once you have done that. Put 1/4 cups of  oil or melted Ghee into the bowl then mix until absorbed, Rub the flour with oil until mixture resembles crumbs. Next put ¼ cups of water into the mixture, knead into a firm dough.Cover it and leave it for 30 mins. FILLINGS  Boil 3 potatoes then chop them up, put some oil in a pan and put in 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, ½ teaspoons of garam masala, 1 teaspoon turmeric and then cook for 30 - 60 seconds. Finely chop up 1 green chili.  2-3 cloves of crushed garlic into the pan, 1 teaspoon of  ginger paste into the pan with the green chili then cook for 1 min. After that, put 1 chopped onion into the pan then stir for 3-4 mins, put in the potatoes you chopped in the pan also put 1 cup of green peas mix well then put in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.Put in some cashew and coriander then mix.   DOUGH Divide the dough into 6-7 equal parts, turn the dough into balls and place a towel over it. After  that, roll them into an oval then cut them into a half. Form a cone, fill the cone with the potato filling , Brush the edges with water and seal it. Lastly, deep fry the samosas for 4-5 mins until golden brown.

How to create  a rangoli design

Today  you are going to share instructions on how to create a rangoli design. You can use this link to help you with the equipment and things needed along with step by step instructions. You may want to do a little research before you begin your writing. 

Equipment: Rice Powder Lentils ,Spices , Rangoli colours , Flower Petals and Chalk.

Detailed instructions:  Descending where to draw a Rangoli .Find a spot where you are going to make your Rangoli, make sure that it is a flat dry space; it could be outside of your house or inside. practice  on paper with a pencil until you are happy with your design. Use the chalk and draw your outline on the floor. If your outline is too thin, draw over it again, You can also rub out your mistakes. Once you have done that, put on your spices, Rangoli colours and flower petals on. Lastly fill you Rangoli and you are finished, enjoy ! Your Rangoli :)

Jacinda Ardern is the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Every day she has to make some tough decisions on behalf of the country. Imagine if you were the Prime Minister of NZ. What types of decisions would you want to make? Why?

Task: Write about the role that the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has. What types of decisions does she have to make? If you were the Prime Minister what changes would you make to make NZ a better place to live?

Begin your writing here: Jacinda Adern is the prime minister of New Zealand She is also the 40th prime minister of New Zealand!  Jacinda Ardern makes lots of decisions like when we had our first lockdown who helped us get back to normal? Jacinda Adern because she makes lots of decisions for New Zealand and the people who live in New Zealand. If I was the prime minister I would make lots of decisions like how I could get Auckland back to normal like the rest of Nz. Or even help people who don't have jobs.

Begin your writing here:  It was the year 5 and 6 camp,me and Tumoe  were going to mr jacobson's activity for camp.  We were going to Mr Jacobson's activity because it was on our activity shcudule.  While  Me and Tumoe were really excited because we heard that there was gonna be a water balloon fight. When we arrived at where Mr Jacobesons activity was we sat down on the grass and then we saw another team Tumoe and i didnt know what they were doing. Until Mr Jacobson said that we were going to be versusing the other team! Everyone was getting excited and also very hot. To win we had to complete all the obstcorses as a team and then the first team to put up their flag wins! Everybody was running and completing the obstcorses me and Tumoe were enjoying the obstrcosers and then suddenly the other put the flag and they won. Even though they won me and Tumoe still had fun and we also enjoyed the water balloon fight A Lot.
